Expanding Applications Against Other Destructive Beetle Pests
WeevilWipeout was originally developed to combat the Red Palm Weevil, one of the most destructive palm pests in the world. However, the underlying plant‑compound technology has the potential to address a broader range of destructive beetle species.
Many of the most damaging agricultural pests belong to groups of wood‑boring or trunk‑boring beetles, which are notoriously difficult to control once established inside plant tissue. These pests cause billions of dollars in agricultural and forestry losses each year across multiple continents.
Ongoing research is therefore exploring the potential application of the WeevilWipeout technology platform against several additional high‑impact pest species.
